The Kyneton Lions Club is making a difference in the lives of children experiencing trauma through the project ‘Operation Teddy Bear’. The project supplies teddy bears to Victoria Police and its Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigations Teams (SOCIT), Air Ambulance, Childrens Court Victoria, County Court and the Coroners Court.

It also supplies bears to hospitals, cancer units and other organisations working with distressed children. “It’s a great service for kids who are traumatised, whether it be through accidents or domestic violence, and the Kyneton Lions Club is proud to make it a little easier for them under those circumstances,” said project cordinator, Len Young.

The Lions recently delivered boxes of teddies to the Kyneton Ambulance Branch and the SOCIT unit in Bendigo.
